I like to start off with a briefing chat with you so I can get an idea of what your requirements are. Things I like to discuss are colour ideas, flowers you have in mind, design styles you like and accessories you might be thinking of styling your day with. Mood boards are also a great information gathering tool for me, along with material samples or Pinterest boards. All of this helps build a picture of who you are and which direction I might be able to guide you in for a creative and original stationery solution.
I would also at this stage need to get an idea of the quantity you may need for ‘Before the Day’ stationery. Remember for invites you would not necessarily need one invite per guest, couples or families only need one invite. But an estimate of guests at this stage will help to create an initial estimate for you to see how everything is working with your budget. Also, we would explore the card and paper stocks Pencil Pop can offer you.
All this information gathering will act as a creative brief to design a concept for you based on the information provided and to put together a detailed cost estimate for the design & production of your stationery. Once you are happy with my proposal we can start on the fun bit of creating 2-3 different concepts that will establish the design and style you are after. If you have a specific idea or design in mind already fabulous, I can help you make your vision come to life on paper. I have had couples supply their own sketches or drawings, which I have turned into a design and printable artwork.
While I am working on concepts I would recommend, if not already completed from sending out ‘Save the Date’ cards, to finalise your guest list spreadsheet as I will need this for the next stage to be able to complete the printing process. You do not have to have individual personalised printed stationery, some couples still prefer the old school way of handwriting invitations and envelopes. I have even had a couple that wanted a mixture of both.
